NOTICE

For A Senior Scientist in Town Planning – AR2

National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) is a leading Research & Development institution in the country and a reputed technical services provider in the fields of geotechnical engineering, landslide risk management, human settlements planning, environmental monitoring, building materials research, and engineering project management, and operates under the vison of creating a safer built environment. At present, NBRO functions under the purview of the State Ministry of National Security and Disaster Management. NBRO has enhanced its capacity as the as the national focal point for landslide risk management in Sri Lanka and perform a major role from landslide risk identification to landslide risk reduction with the implementation of various measures.

Human Settlements Planning and Training Division (HSPTD) of the NBRO is one of the Six technical divisions and mainly providing services related to Disaster Risk Management through non-structural interventions and undertake Research and Development on human settlements adaptation to climate change. Now, HSPTD is looking for a capable professional to recruit as a Senior Scientist to the division with following qualifications;

1. A special degree in Town & Country Planning in the relevant field with appropriate subject combinations from a university recognized by the UGC.

ANDA postgraduate degree qualification (Master’s) or Corporate Membership of a recognized professional institution in the relevant field.

AND

Minimum of eight (08) years research and development experience in a government corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or a reputed private Institution, after obtaining the first degree.

OR

1. A special degree in Town & Country Planning or relevant field with appropriate subject combinations from a University recognized by the UGC.

AND

A Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in the relevant field.

AND

Minimum of five (05) years research experience in a government corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or a reputed private institution, after obtaining the first degree.

Note. Research publications/contribution to development sector relevant to the respective discipline will be an added qualification.

Age: should not be less than 30 years and not more than 45 years.

Duration: Recruitment will be made on Contract basis, initially for a period of one year, with possible extension depending on service requirement.

Remuneration: Total monthly remuneration of Rs. 84,000.00 will be made that include Rs. 7,800.00 as cost of living.
