Dr. Hiba Baroud, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Vanderbilt University delivered a guest lecture on the topic of “Data-driven modelling of the risk and resilience of critical infrastructure systems” at the NBRO Auditorium on Friday, 18th of August 2017. Several technical staffs from Ceylon Electricity Board also attended this session. This was a useful lecture to listeners especially to NBRO staffs who are often engaged in data-driven modelling in relation to landslide risk management. Dr. Baroud was on a short visit to Sri Lanka to attend the conference on “Recognizing the Climate Change Risk of Dry Zone Farmers” organized under Agricultural Decision Making and Adaptation to Precipitation Trends in Sri Lanka (ADAPT-SL) a research Project collaboratively implemented by National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) and Vanderbilt Institute of Energy and Environment (VIEE).
